Labour & Tools Policy – Who Brings What, Who Manages What

This policy clearly outlines what labour and tools are provided by the contractor, what the client is responsible for, and how coordination is handled to ensure smooth progress and accountability on-site.

Our Working Techniques — The SCW Way

Using the tool is one thing. Using it right — every time — is the SCW difference.
Here’s how we work on-site:

  • Full surface checks before tile or marble fixing (dry layout, slope test)

  • Double curing for plaster and RCC (same day + next morning)

  • Tile fixing with spacers and spirit level — not hand eyeballing

  • Plaster with guideline patti & plumb — to avoid wavy or uneven walls

  • Steel bending & layout done per drawing, not random guesswork

  • Electrical paths marked before cutting, ensuring clean alignment

1. Labour Provided by Contractor

All core construction labour (e.g., masons, helpers, bar-binders, shuttering workers, tile fitters, etc.) is provided and managed by the contractor. Labour strength is scheduled based on project size and committed timeline.

  • Labour will be present full-day as per the site requirement.
  • Any delays caused by client-side issues (e.g., payment, material delay) will result in labour being paused or reassigned.

2. Tools & Basic Equipment (Contractor Responsibility)

The contractor will bring all necessary basic hand tools and manual equipment needed for:

  • Masonry
  • Plastering
  • RCC & Formwork
  • Tile cutting & laying
  • Surface work (putty, waterproofing, etc.)

Note: These tools are sufficient for standard manual work. Power tools, machines, or special tools (if required) are discussed separately.

3. Client-Side Requirements (Important)

The client must provide or arrange for the following unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Water supply on site
  • Electricity connection or generator
  • Space for material storage
  • Toilet access or sanitation for labour
  • Any power tools or special tools needed for custom or premium work

Failure to arrange these may result in project delays.

4. What Contractor Does Not Provide

  • Power tools (e.g., vibrator machine, concrete cutter, angle grinder, etc.) unless separately billed
  • Heavy machinery (e.g., mixer machines, lift, JCB)
  • Scaffolding or ladders for multi-floor sites (to be discussed separately)
  • Safety gear for third-party workers not under our contract

5. Third-Party Labour Not Allowed Without Consent

For safety and responsibility reasons:

  • No external labour (hired by the client) is allowed to work with or alongside our labour without prior written approval.
  • If the client brings in third-party labour, our team will pause work until coordination is resolved.
  •

6. Labour Misuse or Mistreatment

Labour is managed professionally. Clients must:

  • Not assign personal or unrelated tasks to site labour
  • Not argue, threaten, or mistreat labour for performance or speed issues — all communication must go through the contractor
  • Respect labour working hours and breaks
  •

If labour is mistreated or misused, the contractor reserves the right to withdraw the team and pause work.

7. Tool Damage or Theft

  • Damaged by client-side interference
  • Lost or stolen due to open site conditions
  • Tools brought by the contractor are the contractor’s responsibility, but if tools are:
  •

The client may be asked to reimburse or arrange replacements.

8. Summary

This policy ensures everyone knows who is responsible for what, and helps avoid confusion or blame during execution. Respect, planning, and communication are the foundation of a smooth build. Let us know at the time of booking if you need clarification or changes to any of the standard tool/labour arrangements.
